Kia March Sales Growth
Korea’s second-largest carmaker Kia announced a 2.7% year-on-year increase in March sales driven by domestic and international demand growth.
In the announcement, it was stated that Kia sold a total of 285,854 vehicles in March, up from 278,355 vehicles last year. Kia is a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group.
Domestic sales saw a significant rise of 12.8% to 56,404 vehicles from 42,002 vehicles last year, while overseas sales increased slightly by 0.4% to 228,978 vehicles from 205,226 vehicles last year.
The March sales included 472 special vehicles, a substantial rise of 74.8% compared to 270 vehicles last year.
For the first quarter of this year, Kia's sales rose from 772,648 vehicles last year to 779,169 vehicles, marking an 0.8% year-on-year increase and setting a new record for the quarter.
