Statement by China Coast Guard Spokesperson on Philippine Coast Guard's Hype and Provocations

中国海警局新闻发言人刘德军表示，日前，中国海警在黄岩岛附近中国管辖海域依法开展例行维权执法训练，并已依规提前发布航行安全通告。其间，菲方聚集多艘船只闯入中方演训区域，借“捕鱼”之名企图滋扰生事、借机炒作并博取国际关注。我们严正告诫菲方，立即停止挑衅行为和恶意抹黑。中国海警将继续依法在中国黄岩岛海域开展维权执法行动，坚定维护国家领土主权和海洋权益。

Liu Dejun, spokesperson for the China Coast Guard, said that the China Coast Guard recently carried out routine rights-protection and law-enforcement drills in waters near Huangyan Dao that fall under China's jurisdiction, and had lawfully issued a navigation safety notice beforehand. During the exercise, the Philippine side gathered numerous vessels and entered the Chinese training zone under the guise of “fishing”, in an attempt to provoke incidents, amplify the matter and attract international attention. We sternly urge the Philippine side to immediately stop its provocative moves and smear tactics. The China Coast Guard will continue to conduct rights-protection and law-enforcement operations in the waters of China's Huangyan Dao in accordance with the law, and firmly safeguard national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
