The year is 2024. McKinsey's Global Survey finds that less than a year after manygenerative artificial intelligence (AI)tools made their debut, one-third of survey participants were using generative AI in at least one business area. The survey also found that nearly one-quarter of C-suite executive participants were using generative AI tools for work, with 40% of survey participants sharing that their organizations planned to invest in AI overall due to AI advances.

AI is a tool already used by many HR professionals, and the number of HR-related responsibilities where AI can assist is growing. AI does have benefits, including streamlining processes, saving organizations time and money, and allowing HR professionals to devote more time to employee development and the support of strategic goals. But AI also comes with challenges, such as potential legal issues, ethical concerns, and bias intraining data, which require AI users to employ caution and due diligence.
